Mexican Unionist Speaks Out in Albany Against NAFTA
Event: Benedicto Martinez, an official representative of the Frente Autentico del Trabajo or F.A.T., the major independent labor federation of Mexico, will speak in Albany about the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Find out what happens when jobs are outsourced to low wage countries. The event is also aimed at raising funds to sponsor a delegation from F.A.T. to this year's Labor Notes Conference on April 23-25 in Detroit. Donations will be accepted.
When: The event will be Monday, April 19, starting at 6:30 PM. Starting at 6:30PM hearty food and soda will be served. (Cash bar). Presentation by Benedicto Martinez will be made at 7 PM with an introduction by Robin Alexander of the United Electrical Workers Union.
Where: At Joe's Grill located at 1044 Central Ave., Albany. (About one quarter mile past Westgate Shopping Center going towards Schenectady- Rte 5W)
